Willard 730 Project
Starting to rebuild 2 Willard 730's from the ground up. We are going to remove diesels, cut out old deck and counsel and add a hull extension so we can hang twin 175's. Lets see how this goes.

New Transome Box
We have made new transom boxes to replace the full size ones and have built them just large enough to accommodate the fuel filters and the engine cables

How hard would it be to place a console with a head on this one? Would there be enough room below the deck for a step down?

If you want.
You could but you would sacrifice fuel capacity as the tank runs from the back of the console forward, so you would end up with a 60 +- fuel tank.

no worrys
The extensions are layered up just as tough as the rest of the boat all fiberglass and non organic core. The hull has a better chance of breaking than the extensions.

They are all glass and foam core 25# structural hull/transom/stingers/bulkheads and 5# on deck plates and the new transom boxes. No wood at all that's why i love willards.

Yes
Oil is in almost every product these days in varying amounts. When a boat is made from non organic material it refers to the boats ability to not rot as their is no wood in the boat. The term is not meant to be taken 100% literal. It might be a bit broad of a term and not true if you dig into it. But i think you know what i mean.

I've rigged two Willard 730's with heavy aluminum brackets from PORTAPRODUCTS:
http://www.portaproducts.com/index.p...=porta-bracket
They're on hard service rescue boats and have been put through h**l for the past 13 years. Easy install and great support from the manufacturer. We can trim the engines up vertical nearly two feet, without tilting the engine. In shallow water, we run with the engine skeg above the keel. Used "low water intake" adapter on one install, 200 hp Yamaha.
