Basically you have a big river with a ton of wind fetch and winds in the 30-40+ ranges that runs against a strong current.
Add high cliff walls and narrow restrictions in the river and you end up with over 15' swell on the right days in localized areas like the hatchery as pictured.

It works just fine in big waves and wind, aka Hawaii, the Gorge.
After 40kts headwind, I think that is when would be better to have bimini folded. But that's not a normal day by any means. We go out every day in 20-30kts wind and no problems.
It's very easy to fold the console back with the bimini still up to get to the diesel. That is the challenge with any top on a Willard diesel cause the console needs to fold. Basically, quick release one set of after bimini poles and fold it back.
Would be a good setup for the tropics too I think. Nice shade back there.

The vendors were fantastic. Samson specializes in wakeboard towers and has a lot of nice bits like CNC cut mounting and folding bits. They also work hard in hand wit the bimini guys.
