Picked up my re-tubed RIB from Polaris yesterday and brought it home. I have attached 3 photo's reflecting the new "look" .. My current project is having an aluminium steering console with double jockey seating fabricated to fit after I replace the storage compartments tops with new fiberglassed plywood ones.

Looks good; glad you got thing moving along.

Post more pics as you tack things on.

Wow, what a difference! Money well-spent I'd say! Since the toobs are now Hypalon, your boat is better than "new"!

Steering Console with Jockey Seating

My mate Allen got the Steering Console with jockey Seating from drawings to reality yesterday by picking up and delivering a 8 ft. by 4 ft. sheet of Aluminium to the Fabricators for Shearing and Braking and back to the workshop. Will keep updating.

Everything has now been installed on the Steering Console and it's more or less ready to be installed into the RIB.

Storage Hatch Covers

Cut and fitted the Storage Hatch covers, then Fiberglassed them and finally screwed them down permanently. Installed an Access Hatch in the Bow Storage Hatch.

hatch covers

Interesting project you have going here, just wondering what happened with the original hatch covers? The job you are doing looks really good, keep at it, projects seem to stretch out sometimes. I did a project myself on a odd little boat a while back, haven't been on this forum in quite a while..
Nice retube, looks like it is going to be a nice boat for you..

Steering Console installed

Thanks Pathalla .. the original hatch covers were not all with the RIB when I purchased it ..they had slots cut in them on the Bow & Stern ends and a "bungee type" fitting that held them down .. not suitable for mounting a Steering Console.
I've attached some photo's of the Steering Console installed and after the motor is installed next week, I will add the Windscreen & Nav Arch.
The motor that's being installed is a 70 HP Tohatsu TLDI which is a 2 stroke.

Maiden Voyage

First time on the water and everything appears to be working well. Glad when the 10 hour "break-in" period for the motor is completed. 3000 RPM was as high as we went and we were travelling at 18 MPH.
Waiting for the Windscreen & Seatback and will start on the Nav Arch next.

Well that looks a hell of a lot better than Oct.

Quite a difference from the pics you first posted, nice job! Nothing like the anticipation of launching what for you is a new boat, especially when you customized/rigged it. How was it? Almost as good as sex? Better maybe in a different way I'm thinking? It does feel good....

Looking great. That launch site looks to be somewhere near the Norwegian (or is it Finnish?) sloughs.

Fraser River

Yes, Prairie Tuber, you were close, it is the south arm of the Fraser. Finns Slough is on the Richmond side (north) and the boat launch shown is on the Ladner side (south) where, before the Massey Tunnel was built, the old Ferry used to land. It's a Public Boat Launch at the end of Ferry Road near Captain's Cove Marina.
The attached photo was taken in Ladner Reach which runs south off the Fraser River with the Mountains surrounding Vancouver in the background.

Slow Progress

Finally got the Seat Back, Windscreen and Bow Post installed.
The Nav. Arch is completed and just needs wiring before it's installed along with the Back Seat/Locker.
