Anybody tow a car transporter with a forester?

Hi all, looking to replace my merc e320 cdi estate with a mk2 Subaru Forester.

I occasionally tow my mk2 golf on an ifor double axle car transporter.

I know it's within the cars towing limits but I wondering if anybody has experience with one.

I've owned a couple Foresters and towed my old Zodiac many thousands of miles with it. They are great cars, especially in the snow and ice. However, I believe your car/trailer would be over double the maximum towing capacity of 1500 pounds.

Well, everything that I find says 1500 pounds, but there may be different capacities on ones sold in Europe versus North America?

That said, I think it would be pretty hard on the transmission to pull around its own weight, even if it is within its rated capacity.

I've sold a few over the years....even high mileage to local Farmers ect...not the most diligent when it comes to caring..or maintaining...and or going lightly on vehicles!
Never had one back.. IME Pretty Bullet proof as CARS for towing go
