Anyone for a BEVvy?

Did they say WHY they didn't like it?
Interesting responses there - two possible marine engineers, one plain engineer, one actual user and, well, yeah, somebody else. Only the actual user likes the idea. I had a keyless engine for eight seasons. Keyless with no fob - so code or button only. All fly-by-wire natch. It worked flawlessly - I'd imagine that adding a fob into the equation wouldn't have made it much worse/better. I see Yamaha have a similar deal, with their focus being security - no fob, no go - dunno is the Suzi the same.
As an aside, I bought a BEV 18 months ago. I tow a boat with it, recovering from saltwater slips. I get a lot of, um, advice from some very sensible people who's opinion I generally respect, telling me that my 265hp AWD vehicle (wait for it) DOESN'T WORK. For all the usual reasons.
How very dare I

Taking your aside totally off kilter, what's for all the usual reasons?
The truck is probably going to need to be replaced in the next couple of years and I would really like to go electric, the only reason I hesitate is range (tow a caravan) so I'm wondering what are the other "usual reasons".

They "spontaneously ignite, there are no chargers, they can't do long drives, their batteries fail weekly, they need lifted off motorways even more often, they can't tow, they don't work in the rain, cold, hot, wind, explode in saltwater" Sheesh!
I know lads who tow 'vans with EVs. Big EVs with Big batteries.
Like Big Trucks with Big engines.
Horses for courses, IMO.

Let's not tell them the BEV is keyless - it won't end well!
In reality, if the fob isn't INSIDE the BEV, you're not going anywhere, it's fussy that way. The odd thing about BEVs is that they are never 'off', it's more can they move or not. So there are quite interesting (in the Chinese sense) arrangements pertaining to when they can do sh1t...

👍 comfortable with all "those usual" reasons. It's just the 105 mile range with the biggest truck (pick up) I can get in the UK, Maxus, and it's not even 4wd . The Kia EV9 looks interesting though. Still I've got at least 2 years to think about it.
Sorry side tracked, back to fobs ..........

That's still too skimpy for your requirement. Still, after two years, the terrain will have changed. IMO you need a minimum of 3 hours driving between stops/charges that take no more than 30 mins, no queuing. Nothing less will work.
Except Air BnB

Hmm. We had a brand new refurbed Air B&B Friday night. 20m from the boat park and ride, 50m from a cracking Chinese and 100m from the slip/pontoon. One of the nicest beds I've slept in ever and unobtrusive aircon upstairs and down. Suited this 68yr old after two days of SIB assembly and hauling up the slip single handed (Mrs F was holding the dog!).

I note you are keen to stress you have a "B"EV rather than the inferior and ultimately less useful corded type.
