Astra 1.7TD SRi - £1200
Mrs Nasher has decided it’s time for a smaller car now the kids don’t need ferrying around so much, and has her heart set on a Mini.
She’s really sad about moving her Astra on, as we’ve had it years and she’s very fond of it.
54 plate Mk5 Astra 1.7TD Sri 5 door.
Passed it’s MOT on the 1st February so has nearly a full year.
It did have 2 advisories:
1 Rear tyre nearing it’s limit, so I replaced it the same day.
Slight wear in a steering ball joint, but I can’t find it.
I also replaced the rear exhaust box rubbers as it was a bit loose and changed the oil, oil filter and air filter.
It now has 4 almost new tyres on it.
It has done 129K miles, but runs and drives very nicely.
There are no drivetrain bearing noises at all, and the manual gearbox is very sweet.
I really enjoy driving it as it has all the SRi attributes including a good turn of speed, but is also economical with it’s 1.7TD lump.
We’ve owned it since it was a couple of years old, and it’s only had one previous owner which was Vauxhall as it was a company car.
I have changed the oil and filters @ every 7.5K miles, the last time being the 1st Feb this year.
I’ve also replaced or repaired anything that needed doing as soon as Mrs Nasher mentioned it, or if when I drove it I decided it needed doing.
The exterior is in very good condition for it’s age, although there are some curb marks on a couple of the wheels.
The interior is also in very good condition apart from two worn parts on the drivers seat bolster that Mrs Nasher has sewn patches over to stop them getting any worse.
As it’s the SRi it has lower stiffer suspension, 17in wheels and bucket seats.
It’s averaged @45MPG over the whole time we’ve owned it.
Over the years it’s had an alternator, rear springs, both front wheel bearings, several small coolant hoses around the engine, countless sets of brake pads etc.
We’re looking for £1200, which considering the years MOT and 4 newish tyres is good value.
