Actually smart-arse the true full meaning is as follows:

According to Kia Motors, the name "Kia" derives from the Hanja "ki" meaning arise or come up out of or rising up and the "a" stands for Asia. So Kia is roughly translated as arise or come up out of Asia or Rising out of Asia.

Let me start with declaring that I am a complete landrover nut!!

But I will never buy another landrover that has a td5 or newer engine in it as landrover and electronics just do not mix well

To all the guys that slag off landrovers please show me a 4x4 that can tow 3500kgs daily take the abuse that they are given on a daily basis done 150000 miles over 10 years and only had basic servicing
I can show you plenty landrovers :-)

On my second Defender which has the TD5 engine but is relatively gutless after my last one. I00% reliable, leaky, goes anywhere (with Goodrich Muds) basic, unlockable with any key, cold in winter& too warm in summer, uncomfortable, noisy, expensive to buy etc etc
Would I want anything else for work NO, would I want to drive more than 50 miles in it, preferably not !
Horses for courses...

I can show you more Land cruisers. You just have to look at the toughest places on the planet and see what is being used there. It wont be Land Rovers, they lost that crown in the 70's.

Not anymore. Patrols are easily as popular as Land Tanks with the camel jockies these days and the Disco is the best selling 4x4 in Australia.

LR rule in Asia for those holding 'Plenty Dolla'.

Not according to this article
Car sales April 2012: Winners and losers |*CarAdvice

The Nissan Navara is right up there as well

Land Rovers reliabilty issues killed them off in Oz years ago. They are making some headway, but the people who buy them, seem to use them as town cars, rather than in the outback.
