For once, a SWMBO may be on the money! I've stayed out of this one so far 'cos as a 110 driver I'm well biased, however a friend has been driving a DiscoFairy 3 for a couple of years now and I'm impressed. I think it's a TD6 (?) and is Auto. I've fired it around a few rough fields and over a bank or two and my next buy is going to be one. The off road capability is very good and it's (compared to my 110 ) a dream on the tarmac. The towing capacity is second to none. The drive electronics should be the equal of any slip or beach encountered.

Bought a D3 today. Get this, according to the Sales Manager of our local LR dealership, D3 HSE's are appreciating by £800 per month in the book. At the beginning of the year they were making £3k behind book, now they're making book or more.

Good, and hopefully you'll find a path not in my direction.

Tis' true, I've been keeping an eye on them for months. He offered to buy the Disco off me. RR's are better value.

I know the prices of late D2s and D3s are both on the up - D2s are in short supply.
Even used RR seem to be climbing in value.

I've just bought a D2 and there's definitely a shortage of them and it took ages to find a decent one (well it seems decent in the three days I've had it ) I ended up with a Landmark. I was after a 110 originally but they're even more difficult to get hold of.
Just need to upgrade my boat and that's me done for a while

We finally got there! after making the decision to watch what came up and take either a 2 or a 3 if it seemed like a good un we ended up with a 2. Ended up with a 2004 TD5 GS 7 seat auto in black. Very clean car that has obviously had a very easy life up to this point. It will be in for a shock over the next few months when Mrs Woot starts using it as a mobile tack room and dragging horseboxes everywhere with it! I am sure that it may have the Ribcraft following it some time soon too.
Thanks for the help and advice guys, time will tell if it was a good call but at the moment Mrs Woot is happy so mission accomplished.

That's the exact model I would buy - hope it gives you good service - quite a bit more civilised than a Disco 1 diesel I think.

I drove it home last night and didn't want to get out, it was a nice drive much more refined than the other Disco and had plenty of room for my leggy frame. I felt a bit cheated this morning getting into my everyday vehicle (I can't reveal what I drive on a forum of rufty tufty 4x4 drivers, I'll get more ridicule than I did when i bought a hardboat -which I hasten to add has since been replaced with a RIB)
