This will make you sit up Codders....

In 1995 I had a 4 door Range- with the VM engine- which I am proud to say
- managed to blow up. I looked around for a replacement and was offered a straight 6 Toyota 4.2 Landcruiser with an automatic box. This fitted exactly in the Range-even the engine supports were exactly in line. The only thing that had to be adapted was the prop shaft. As regards the handbrake ( Rangy has a drum brake behind the transmission) - we were able to get away with the MOT as saying that the handbrake was in fact the "P" position on the automatic

Jonathan
Won't make me sit up at all - I said from the start. The diesel RR was quite late in it's life. The VM was a crap engine also used in the Cherokee(I think). The BMW diesel that came after it wasn't much better either!!!
