Stop blaming the EU for everthing. I agree it sucks. but the British public supported it so "you make your bed and lie in it". Blow up the Chunnel, separated from the EU and go back to being a free trading nation. As you can see I saw the writing on the wall 25 years ago. What a shame for a once proud Nation that has turned into a bunch of whiners with no sense of personal responsibilty.
Rant over.
T.

Computers have come on a litle bit since then - they usually have Flash RAM or a backup battery!!!

Just to make you aware I wasn't exactly old enough to have voted for the EU so why shouldn't I whinge about something that screws up all our lives???

My first car in 1983 was a Mexico beetle. After half a year I sold the car because 34 hp was definitely not enough. My second car was better. A 1971 Opel GT with 90 hp.

I'd love an Integrale - went to look at one a few years ago in West london but it was full of rust.

I bought a new Alfetta 2000 GTV in 77, and within 6 weeks of owning it, the supplying dealer rang to ask if I was ok with them cutting the roof off and replacing it due to rust!

It seems Alfa used to store the bodyshells outside in an a field prior to painting, and the primer wasn't water proof.

Who cares about rust? The GTV was stunning - great engines and perfect handling blance.

Was yours anything like these?

Just remember another car I drooled over as a kid.

The Vauxhall Royale Coupe or it's more common bretheren the Opel Monza. Real muscle cars.

Met a guy yesterday that has just purchased a Volvo 1800 sports. The Volvo hachback sports car. Needs some upholstery work and a paint job. but he only paid 400 bucks for it and it runs. it is an Arizona car so no rust. I am jealous. He has an advantage also in that he is a mechanic for the local Volvo dealer. What a bargain.

Yeh, just like the red one.....

It was a drivers car, tacho directly in front of driver, all the others in the centre of the dash. Great fun, but you could feel it rotting beneath you. I sold it and bought a Dolomite Sprint, out of the frying pan, into the fire!
