The one real advantage of Zodiac and Willard over the Proctector is the how the tubes are secured to the boat.

I totally agree. However in my case, the tubes for the 9m Hurricane custom hull that sold on GSA ran about 18k. 2 ea 200hp motors about 20k. No electronics, console needed repairs plus at least $5k of misc. repairs and customization. Would have pushed the cost easily to $80k.
The Protector I'm getting is super clean, has new electronics, custom center console which sleeps one, perfect condition 2004, tubes are 2 years old in impeccable shape. With original trailer, all for $70k OTD.
I would love to be able to slide the tubes on like on my H630. Maybe I'm making a mistake, since I will run charters I wanted something a bit fancier... I'm thinking with these nearly new tubes, it will last me a while and I will insure it accordingly in case of an accident.
