2009 set of Wing sponsons.
$3,000 OBO
and here's the diver door side:
The tubes are coated with the protective Wing TECHTHANE® paint which protects against UV and added abrasion resistance.
This set has served me well for a year, but they see daily commercial use and I wanted to change out to hypalon for more dependable serviceability.
These tubes are holding air pretty good. We re-pressurize them to 3.4 psi maybe 2-3 times a month, and that's with daily use. There are no patches on the main section of tube, and a small patch on the aft port section, and a delaminated patch on the diver door.
There are two problem areas:
1. The rubstrake in the bow area is becoming unglued. Not hanging off, but about 1/2 of the surface area is no longer adhered.
2. The diver door section was not coated with TECHTHANE®, and is showing signs of delamination due to UV damage.
I have had no use for the diver door, so we have deactivated it by gluing fabric and rubstrake to connect the diver door section to the main forward section and small aft section of the tubes. This repair has not been 100% fool proof and with the stress of vibration has failed in the same spot a few times. Your mileage may vary with different techniques we did not try (ie. foam injection into the void connecting the tubes to stabilize movement).
My recommendation for the buyer of these would be to get a new diver door section, or heavily reinforce the current diver door section and engineer better vibration mitigation than we did to stabilize the repair.
