Zodiac 420 Pro - Merc 40hp 4-stroke (San Francisco)
I've owned this boat for about 6 years and been diving and fishing from Lake Tahoe to San Francisco Bay to Monterey Bay. This is a great platform for lake and ocean conditions.
It has a newer Mercury four stroke 40hp motor that sips gas - about 4 gallons per day when trolling for salmon out of Half Moon Bay. I'd guess it has about 250 hours on it. I religiously changed impellers about every 18 months and changed the engine and lower unit oi - all easy to do. It runs great and purrs at both idle and full throttle and always starts up immediately. The cost of the Merc 40hp was about $5,500 alone.
Center console includes newer VHF marine radio with antenna.
The tubes are new as of 2016 and as in excellent shape without any leaks, holes or patches. The tubes of the Zodiac Pro series literally slide off and back on without any glue. New tube sets are easy to obtain and cost about $2,500. You can still get tube sets for this boat relatively easy.
I installed a fiberglass leaning post-console instead of the seats. It stores all the safety gear and a couple dive tanks with a rack. It's great to sit upon or stand up against when the waves get big. I can also strap on a 2x6 and add downriggers of each side.
I put on some self-leveling Nauticus Smart Tabs on the boat so it rides very smooth and doesn't dolphin. A custom stainless grab rail surrounds the center console for a sure grip while motoring.
It comes on a very nice galvanized trailer with 2-inch ball receiver.
I'm asking $7,300 OBO which is a bargain. People here know what a new rig would cost.
Pictures show different seating and console and past engine configurations I'd had with the same boat over time. I've got more videos and pics if needed.
