Well the time has come.....
Moving on up from the hurricane 590. This boat has been a huge amount of fun. The fun days messing around in the biggest inshore waves I could find in lake Ontario (2.5m) have been a blast. Sometimes wet, always safe and fun. The stand up chop of the great lakes are hard to describe, vertical and close together......2m waves. Of course sometimes calm for a 45 mph dash to a favourite picnic site.....
I have been warned that bigger ribs are less fun on the lake in rough conditions, they remove the fun factor... Ocean.. long period swells are by comparison a whole new ball game. The longer ocean swells open a whole new horizon for the 590.
Need to move more people to the island cottage faster and drier. So the 590 is..... reluctantly for sale. My baby is a very clean, turn-key boat. You might spend an hour cleaning it up only because it is new to you. After that, you're wasting your time. It's already been done.
I fully intended to keep this boat forever. Therefore, the boat has been almost completely restored. All powder coating is of the highest quality with zinc powdercoat primer under heavy duty marine grade powder. I was not fooling around and no expense was spared. These are the things I can think of.....
1993 Zodiac Hurricane 590. Ex. US Coast Guard boat then Parker County Sherrifs Dept.
Boat has been in fresh water only and under cover since restoration.

Motor:
2004 Yamaha F150
New power head from Yamaha, professionaly installed, carefully broken in....I'm on my third oil change at 76 hours since rebuild...
lower end is perfect.....the motor is quiet,....idles perfectly, makes as much power as the 590 can handle, all without making a fuss.....motor is perfect.... ok.... I'm a fanatic..
Trailer:
Nice galvanized single axel bunk trailer trailer. You will have no problems here.
Tows straight and true at any speed I have seen. Good bearings, bearing buddies, good rubber with trailer spare tire.
As long as the bow is bettween the bunks on a level ranp this boat is self centering !! Just pull it forward. It centers and levels itself.
I often launch and retrieve this boat by myself without trouble.
I will try to post more pics soon.
Cheers,
Dave
