Zodiac Hurricane 733 with twin Mercury 150 optimax

I hate to sell it, but I have too many projects.

1991 Zodiac H733OB with twin 2006 Mercury Opitmax 150 two-stroke outboards and nice dual axle aluminum trailer. 2-star carb compliant two-strokes; no oil burned in combustion chamber. The boat needs some work and is not turn-key; everything is there and is ready to be restored. Missing one lower unit and needs some gluing done on the tubes. Wing tubes hold air, they don't look fried from the sun, but some of the attachments have separated. Unknown outboard condition. Most likely both engines are good and both trim and tilts function. Typically a lower unit goes out, the boat needs repairs and they're are decommissioned. The boat was a fish and game patrol boat and probably has the majority of it's hours at low RPM.

Highly desirable model with outboard bracket, nice standard Zodiac layout with leaning post, t-top and two Samson posts.

I will restore it, if nobody else wants to tackle this project. Wrapping up a 6 meter and two 7 meters so this ones up for grabs. Will be posting a beautiful Zodiac SRO 700 soon that has a Yamaha 150 with 100 hours; just like new.

Boat is located in Florida and I'm in San Diego. I can assist in finding shipping if needed.

Asking $19,700

Bring all offers; highest offer gets it.

Lower unit now included

Found a lower unit today for the starboard outboard; now included with the boat.

I have had a few offers, but will be taking it off the market soon and shipping it to San Diego.

The boat is now in San Diego and I'm just starting to bring it back to life.

Trailer has all new hubs, bearings, and tires, ($1,100 dumped in the trailer). The outboards are still in question; I have a 2013 powerhead lined up if I need it. Both motors have 700 hours on them. If I don't have confidence in the opti's I will be repowering with a single 300, most likely an Etec.

Just received the new tubeset. The tubes are 2006 genuine Zodiac grey hypalon. Tubes are dirty in the pics, but are in excellent condition, probably an 8 out of 10. Will be selling the wing tubes for $500, (they hold air, but need gluing).

Feel free to take over the project.

New Price $28,000

The 150 Mercury opti's are perfect. 100 psi on all 12 cylinders; which is great for 2-strokes. I'm tracking down a few parts and have new cowls on there way. I've searched the country and most people are asking between $6,000 and $7,500 for the outboards. This was a hot deal when I was trying to get $15,000 out of this boat; I had almost that into it, and just didn't want to ship it.

It was just what I thought; the tubes were rough and a lower unit went out, so they decommissioned the boat and harvested parts.

I'm dumping money into it constantly; the $28,000 obo won't last long.

I promise this will be the last update on this thread. I will start a new thread when the boat is turnkey

Pretty excited, My 733 just shed 400 pounds off the stern.

Just bought a 2010 Evinrude 250 HO 100 Anniversary Edition. It's Charcoal and will match the Hurricane perfect.

I'm ditching the opti's and really only giving up 20 hp and gaining tremendous torque. Evinrude claims 23% more torque then a Yamaha. Can't wait to see what the shot out the hole ends up being.

I've pieced the Opti's back together and they're solid, but I was so impressed with the performance of my 630, I wanted to see if one big Etec would improve the performance of a 733.......we'll see.

The Opti's purr, only have 600 hours on them, perfect compression, bunch of new parts including cowls. I'm selling them as a package for $10,000 with controls, gauges and stainless props. Bolt them on your 733 and you're good to go.

Patrick,

Do you have an estimated date of completion, and an idea of how much you are going to sell the 733 for?
