Another tie down ratchet strap thread

For a 7m, ~1.4t boat will one ton straps to each towing eye be suitable? (In addition to a stronger strap all the way around, and one on the bow eye) or should I get 2t straps?

The only thing really swaying me towards the one ton straps is that they're 6m as opposed to 8... I only really need a couple of metres at the back maximum. Can they be cut to length?

I use Lorry ratchets, 5 tonne, 2 of them at back, 1 on the bow.

You must remember, all straps, lose 50% of their strength, over time.

£60.00 to ensure boat stays on trailer.

Your 1t ones will be fine, the lorry ones are tested to 6t like all rigging gear, but have a WLL of 1t, (working load limit) if you know a lorry driver give him £20 and im sure he will give you a few and yes thet can be cut to suit ......regards

you can get them made up to the length you want, or just cut them to length and seal the cut end with a hot blade
