I have LEDs on my trailer, no problem with a VW Transporter.

Does anybody have any experience with LED trailer lights on either an Audi A6 (2014) or a VW Amarok (2017). I know there is a chance the CANBUS and bulb failure systems will cause issues but can't find anything specific. I'd like to replace my bulb units but if it's going to be a pain I'll just keep wiggling the bulbs every few trips.

Just done the same with my Mini Countryman asked the dealer thay Had no idea so went to local trailer supplier tried a board all good parted with £40 job done
I'm trying to find a solution for my BMW X3 on a maypole LED board. SBS commissioned a new 6ft folding board with LED's. The whole set up is a vast improvement on normal cheap boards however the lights do some crazy things.
In an attempt to get a fix I've ordered a PLUG-IN SMART LOAD RELAY FOR LED LAMPS from ATE http://www.ate-uk.com/plug-in-smart-...0mm-cable.html
Both suppliers (SBS & Ate) have been good and offered to take back there parts if I can't make them.
I had for some time run with both submersible incandescent lamps as well as LED's as a pair to 'fool' the car ( 2015 XC70) but if I get a bulb failure, the LED tail lights go into the usual f blink mode. Just bought one of the above as recommended by Charlie - works perfectly ( still got both light sets ). Nice bit of kit
Just converted my trailer board last weekend to LED .
Surprise- but works even without any LED adapter and even without resistors for turning lights !
Car is a 2014 VW Touareg .
Depending on the car and if it was using dedicated electrics will depend in if you have this problem.
I just got rid of my xc90 (factory electrics) and had hyper flash with my trailer.
New bus is a 2016 grand Cherokee (factory electrics) and no hyper flash. It does do something strange when you first connect the trailer with the side markers but it settles after a few seconds.
