Bearings Query.....Long Shot!

Quiz time..... this is a VERY long shot!

Can anyone who knows trailers hazard a guess at what bearings might be in these hubs (4 sets of them....its a twin axle).....

If there were several taper bearings it 'could' be I'd be happy to buy them all and return the incorrect ones.....

To make things even harder.....Make of trailer is unknown, what we do know is that the wheels /tyres are 4 stud 145 /80 R10 (need a couple of trailer spec tyres too).

If no one on the forum can help, does anyone know of a trailer shop which has lots of stock in /around Whitby?

OR does anyone know of a cheap flatbed /transport option we could chase up?

Thanks

Reckon they're:

Inner cone: L44643L (seal attached)
Inner cup: L44610
Outer cone: L44643
Inner cup: L44610

Drop a hub off (take out split pin, undo castellated nut, remove thrust washer) then take the hub off. Clean the bearings off with a rag and some cleaner / petrol / WD40 and then check the numbers on the bearing's cones against the above. If they match then the cups will too.

All the best.

If you remove the brake shoes* you might be able to get a drift against the back of it and give it a thump to free it off. If not, yup, bearing puller.

* Don't forget to take a note of how they came off, so you can reinstall, if that's what you're doing...

Right then, grabbed a packet of what I think they may be! Measuring up they're more like 25.4mm internal diameter, which is 1" in old money, which makes more sense. External is just over 50mm. Look similar?

All the best.

No probs! Have a look here: Trailer info

Scroll down to 'How to change a set of taper roller bearings:'

Bit bigger, but the principle of getting the cup / race out is the same!

Didn't realise they was an inner and outer race, the outer (closest to wheel) has L44643 etched on the back.
Over to you Dan!

Over to you Dan!

So the race / cup has L44643 on it and the bearing you can make out L446... on?

Sounds unusual, as an L44643 is usually a bearing cone number, rather than a race/cup. Not to say it's not possible though!

I'll have a look through some of bearing lists. Did you manage to measure them?

Dan - I don't get involved with tyres I'm afraid, there's so many people who do them, locally to me, that I just go to one of them if I need any. Sorry.
