Well, we got around to taking the boat out this weekend, as it was the first time out, I decided to take both Honwaves out, with a friend driving my old setup.... It all went well, engine started first time, sounded a bit lumpy, but I was putting that down to the fact it hadn't been run for a while, and I hadn't serviced the engine yet. So we launched under the Itchen bridge, we were running side by side and then I thought I would try the speed out.
It increased revs slightly, but didn't get on plane .... I was then starting to think I've bought a duff engine... I thought maybe it was the choke.. but wasn't that... so I stopped the engine, and took engine cover off to see if I could see anything.. and thankfully found I hadn't connected one of the spark plugs back up!
Once I did that, and restarted the engine - the boat flew! I put two adults and two kids in the boat, 25L of fuel and it still popped on the plane and flew along nicely.
So this week, going to get the bits I need to service the engine, and aim to get out again ASAP
It pops up onto the plane really easily, and reminds me of the Zapcat now.
Thanks again Peter for finding the combo, and thanks Lee for bringing it down to me!
I will aim to get some photos of the package I'm selling soon.
