He did, but we're playing two 6s and and 8, he's not a genuine opensider (no.7). It's been an issue since Neil Back hung up his boots.
In the RWC, Australia ran the 'Pooper' combination of Pocock and Hooper, both world class no.7s. Pocock played at 8 and was awarded player of the tournament. Proof that a fast, smart, poaching no.7 is essential in the modern game with the breakdown rules being as they now are.
Having said that, Itoje is no mug at the breakdown.
