Disco 4 versus Range Sport

Looking to trade the Audi in for something to tow my boat. Have it narrowed down to a 2011 Discovery 4 or a 2011 Range Sport. Both are built on the same chassis with the identical drive train. Just not sure which one to go for...I like them both and they are within £2,000 of each other.

Thoughts/opinions????

Footballer/publican or well heeled country type? The choice is yours.

At least not until the air suss packs up, the autobox starts surging and the leccy handbrake grinds itself to death.

I'm a big fan of Discos, but having owned an X5 and a Disco, I'd never dismiss the X5. If you don't go off road, other than backing down a slip, and you don't need 7 seats, the X5 is a better tarmac based tug than a Disco IMHO. Not had much to do with RRS, but basically the same underneath.

My F-in-Law is on his 3rd Disco, they are now superb to drive, but still prone to the odd issue. The latest one barfed it's power steering fluid over his drive recently.

I've previously had 4 BMs back to back, an air suspension bag going pop is the only failure that I can recall.

At 2011 the warranty is now become a piece of paper for recycling, so the occasional LR fault could really hurt in the wallet dept.

Interior on RRS 2011 is beautiful.

Horses for courses.

I'd have one over the D4 due to interior, but I live on motorways in a suit and see clients.....most on here use them for lugging stuff so the boot is clearly useful. Plus they like to pretend they're "adventurers" and "rescuers" at events whilst in reality cosseted with uber expensive kit on land and water to protect them from the elements. ;-) their image is as important as the WAGS of Cheshire.

(My turn to fish for once) Funny they both effectively use the same vehicle! :-)

Disco every time

I had an evoque that was a great tow car, for me anyway, had to go for some body repair, some donkey backed into it in a car park and left no message.

Had a disco 4 for two weeks, was one of the nicest rides I have ever been in, also towed the boat effortlessly.

If I could afford one I would have one tomorrow. Agreed interior is nice in the Rr, to me the disco looks easier on the eye and the room in the back is imense.
