insurance query

alright guys,

Just renewed my boat insurance with towergate. They tell me that my boat is not covered whilst coupled to the car.

So I phoned my car insurance, and they tell me that my trailer is covered 3rd party whilst coupled to the car, but not its contents. so i asked the question, and yes, the boat is classed as the contents of the trailer.

Basically when Towing my boat, its not covered by any insurance.

Anyone else come across this?

If this is true - towergate need a slap .....

Have a look at the policy wording - look for cover while in transit by road . If its defo not in there then its pointless policy for a trailered boat.

Pm me if its not clear in there ....it sort of what I do ...

Well, Pete cleared it up for me.

I am infact covered, but I found the wording a tad vague, and the guy on the phone definitely said that the boat wasnt covered whilst under the command of the car!
