Need a new (manual) winch

The winch on my trailer was in a bad way when I bought my boat at the start of summer last year. I replaced it with one I bought from the internet but after only about 6 months and a dozen uses it is failing. The brake/direction toggle thing no longer stays in the required position and using it is a real pain now.
I need to replace it (again) but don’t want to end up buying another crap one.
Can anyone recommend a good brand to buy? It is only for a 4m Searider but I don’t want to have to worry about it breaking when I am relying on it. It would be even better if a decent one is available on Amazon as I have some vouchers to spend.
Thanks

+1 for DL.
Mine's a 2 speed with removable handle - there are two gear axle stubs & the speed is selected by putting the handle onto the right one.

Don't know of any others but the three year old Dutton Lainson that's on my trailer is in a mess despite the fact the web is never in the water and the unit gets lubed regularly.

It looks like all the parts have been electroplated rather than hot dipped and although it still works ok it doesn't look very pretty.

The one I bought from l Indespension place is shocking.......flimsy as hell the mechanism started to fold on first use! Had to add oversized washers to reinforce it (channel plate washers) would not buy another..... wasn’t the cheapest either and certainly much lower quality than the one I replaced (which I have kept and may try and repair)

I bought high rated fulton 2 speeed from indespension ,the small pulling gear (cast ) flew in half on levington steep slip ,the boat sailed down the trailer and only was saved as the strap jammed in the winch mechanism .
i advised indespension thinking they would be horrified ,but never heard anything since ,one day i will put it back in the box i still have and send it back .but lousy customer service in my opinion , i think the guy said something like ,"oh there only made in mexico " other paperwork in the box states "limited lifetime warranty
