New trailer - preventative measures?

Any good tips on keeping a new trailer going before I splash it?
Previous one lasted 14 years.

Getting ready for this myself at the moment as I've a couple of new axles on order for my trailer.

I'll be fitting stainless speedy sleeves to the stub axle face that the rear seal runs on to prolong their lives, and will be stripping the brakes down to paint everything that doesn't need to move or is a friction surface.
A lot easier to do before fitting them to the trailer.

My last pair of axles have lasted @ 15yrs by doing similar but the rubber suspension in the main tube has collapsed on one side.

Nasher.

Wax oil is good for internals ....I also coat hubs...inner wheels... AND suspension in a layer of waterproof grease....plus you're brake assembly and cable terminals.
You'll find all these will soon get covered in road film grit and dust forming a protective barrier...it works
My VERY FIRST job is always to replace ALL roller washers AND split pins with stainless steel equivalent!....these tips will save you a lot of grief...time ...and expense! in the medium to long term.
Keep all grease nipples well topped up and wash down regularly ...also spraying the towing hitch and front end and the lighting board holders with corrosion guard when dry works well

I try not to dip the wheel hubs in salt water. I always rinse with fresh water.

we all try....but we often fail eh!??
My trailer is 8 years old and the Wheel Hubs are still very good (inside and out) and travel 1000's of miles in a "normal" Year.
I'd be happy to do the Pepesi challenge with my system ...against any comparable trailer with the same usage
Entirely up to you of course.
I wash ALL the Trailer after every trip!
