Why not cover and strap any fuel tanks / jerry cans into the boat? saves carrying them in the car and avoids potential smell.

If trailering then that's what it would do, problem I have is when I'm in my campervan with the SIB, the tank is in the back of the van and unless I'm very careful the fumes find away out of the tank.

Atm I use a heavy duty bin back. Then a luggage vauccm bag, with some, not all the air sucked out of it as that seems to encourage the fuel out of the tank. I then stick it a canvas bag then another heavy duty bin back.

This works but it the bags need changing or washing regularly and it's a right pain to do tbh. I'm thinking about an exterior cabinet, one on the back doors or maybe the roof.

Are we talking pre-mixed or all petrol? The reason I ask is that I don't notice any strong petrol smell when I carry the fuel tank in the back of the truck. Maybe it's just better ventilated than a sealed car, either that or I'm losing my sense of smell!

It is non mixed. If you travel with it in the car with all windows up etc you don’t smell it after a while. Open a window however or get out and in again and you smell it. The worry is I think it adds to drowsiness which is not good if towing 300 plus miles

If only I had the space in the small rib I tend to tow. But yes this is the best option and with a bit of contrivance is the best option me thinks
