replacement axle

need to do some trailer maintenance when I get a spare minute or two
Seem to remember a discussion on here regarding replacement axles which seemed point to a new axlebeing not much more expensive than new shoes, brake innards, & cables (&maybe drums although they will doubtless clean up) Can't find it now......does anyone have a link for a supplier of replacement axles?? Rollercoaster3 trailer. Thanx

Dave, do you know your hub face measurement? I found these on ebay:

eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

Please don't buy them all, I haven't made my mind up yet

Excellent price, but the mounting brackets are very close together and would be unlikely to align with most boat trailer chassis frames. If you're handy with a welder, then not too big a job to hack them off and re-fix in the right place.

Would spoil the galv though

Hi I replaced my axel on my rc trailer recently. cost about £400 ish.
came with breaks ,hubs etc.
was sooo worth it.
breaks from indi were and are expensive.
I wanted a new axel as it was 20 years old and looking like the suspensin arms and actuall suspension in the beam were on their way out.
the 375 sounds about right. but then its little bits like break rods, cables new u bolts that cost.
Dead easy to change out.

Dave
Try giving Indespension a ring on White Lund, talk to the nice Scottish lady there, see what she will quote you.

on White Lund
now there's a thought, used to wander thru that area a lot when I had a proper(sort of) job. I'd forgotten they were there, will maybe pay 'em a visit on my way back from Cumbria next week.
Thanks

Have a look on SBS website there is a parts list with prices on there and the whole axle prices are very reasonable. I've been wondering whether to just have a spare axle on hand to swap in the event of distress.
