Roller Trailer braked for 5.8m RIB

I was just about to order an Extreme trailer when I foud out they are not CE Approved which would cause a problem towing in France/mainland europe particularly behind a non UK registered vehicle.

I need a good CE Approved roller coaster, braked trailer to take a 5.8 rib/engine weight of circa 900 kgs. Ideally as new as possible with good brakes and bearings.

Suggestions welcome.

Give them a call as when i was talking to them at the Southampton boat show he mention that the prices were going up Mid Novemeber as the trailers would have to be CE Approved by then.

Unfortunately that has not happened and no date when it will happen. I spoke to them this morning - a real pain for me.

I think my RIB supplier like you had thought they would be approved by now and had quoted their trailer in the agreed package - as now no longer available I have a problem unless we find another supplier with a trailer at a similar price or a good used one with CE Approval. With more and more people requiring CE Approvewd trailers for travel to Europe one would have thought the trailer manufacturers would have woken up. RIB and Engine manufacturers have all done so.

As of 1st November, it is illegal to sell a new trailer that does not meet the European Type Approval, so if they are still selling them I can only assume they are old stock.

We could supply you with a brand new SBS R2/1300EL trailer fully compliant with European Type Approval for £1975 + VAT.
