Presumably, you've seen the 'wedges' which can be used to alter the angle of the helm by 20 degrees and also adjustable angle tilting helm units? Would these be easier for you?

Thanks Downhilldai, I was not aware of these specifically, but I had thought about just modifying the helm mounting. Unfortunately, this does not solve all of my problems, as the wheel will still be too close to the drivers seat, and I would also need to make seperate arrangements for mounting the flush mount throttle controls. Likewise I have looked at rear mount steering units, but would have problems accessing the fill hole when mounted in my console. So all in al, I think that modifiying the console is the easiest way to get the ergonomics right, painful as it is!
I think I need to say that the position of the console was decided on a CF22 Outhill console, which has the steering hub inset into the console, but this placed the steering wheel too near to the centre line of the boat, and so had to be changed to the CF19. The blame for this cock up is all mine, and every-one associated with the build has been nothing but helpful, that is Outhill and Osprey.

My Brenderup is 6.3 m from hitch to back.
7.05 m to trailer board with boat on top.
7.55 m from hitch to back of prop with the engine down.
While I was running round with the tape measure I find My 6.5 m ia exactly 6.1 m from front of tubes to back of cones.
