When I took delivery of my Highfield 460, the bunks on the trailer were set up incorrectly and I had to reset them. I took measurements of how wide apart the lifting strakes were on my hull, and adjusted the bunks so that the bunks were just wide of the strakes. Length wise, you want your transom supported by the bunks of course. Now the boat sits perfectly level, and is easy to centre when coming in from the water. It helps that I have a single keel roller up front as well. I also adjusted the keel roller a couple of times until I was happy with it; that needs to be in a position that keeps the keel between 1" and 2" above the main beam of the trailer.
