Trailer to carry All

Hi
Has anyone added extra carry "guides rails or posts" to fit push bikes on or to carry car jack or secret compartment for eg car keys or
When on holiday in Scotland I wish I had my push bike with me but towing a trailer with rib full of fuel spare wheel for car and trailer .did not fancy bolting on to or on top of car a bike rack
Thinking of adding to the trailer the prevision to load bikes onto the trailer has anyone done this any pic, s I can copy .then when went off on my own in rib left my car keys under wheel of car only for partner to come along and move car over them, a little compartment secret for keys money good or bad Idea’

stul,

I have just put bikes in the boat and strapped them to the console. I have the advantage of not having vulnerable tubes but careful packaging should protect them. I was planning to put them on the roof this year.

I believe that some people have a spare key cut which just is the mechanical bit (so no temperamental expensive electronics which don't like sea water). Hide the real key somewhere in the car and use this just to lock/unlock the doors. Can be kept with boat keys or securely in a locker.

I had a pendle 4 bike rack on the tow bar and could still tow the boat full of camping gear
As for keys I make all the passengers put keys , wallets, phones in a small dry bag, keeps the safe and dry

Box on the trailer no good now - the whole world knows where you hid the key!

Ref. the bikes I have also put them against the console. Removed the pedals - makes them a lot eeasier to stack.

Polys Idea with the mechanical key is potentially good.
Only thing to bear in mind is read your car's handbook. I used my key mechnically when the batteries died in the remote & sod's law nobody had the right ones in stock. The alarm may behave a little differently when locked / unlocked by key. Also a lot of the cars these days use RF coding so you may find it locks but doesn't set the alarm etc.

Worth a test before you find you can't get back in whilst camped in the @rse end of nowhere....

All keys and valuables in the RNLI free small drybag which is kept in the console. Bikes secured to the back of the jockey seats.

I have a really good system on my new truck. I can lock the keys inside and have a push button entry pad on the door

A Thule bike rack for the roof of your car is best (bikes stand upright and lock to down tube). Speaking of carrying things in my boat - I've even carried trees to the west coast like Columbus with his potato plants!
