Hi
Yep, the Vivaro will pull it no problem.
My 2004 1.9 Traffic pulls my 6.5 vipermax without too much fuss. Even manages to get into 6th gear from time to time.
The engine on the 1.9 is fantastic, only 100hp but very well geared for towing.
I used to use it for launching our Valiant 570 on some pretty steep slipways over here in France, ...never had an issue.
Hope this helps
Simon

I know someone who tows a similar weight of ribcraft behind a 1.9 vectra. I assume it's the same engine under the bonnets........

I think the Vectra 1.9 only has a maximum braked towing limit of 1600kgs whereas the Vivaro/Traffic has a limit of 2000Kgs....mainly due to bigger brakes to accomodate the payload of the vans. ....i guess

If it's the CDTi engine, it'll pull like a train. I had a Zafira with the 150hp one in it. When I bought the Ocean Pro it towed it home from the south coast. Would even accelerate up hill in 6th gear. Had to get rid of it though as Vauxhall have taken a big, powerful Fiat diesel and bolted what I assume is a corsa gearbox to it. The torque from these engines eats those Vauxhall gearboxes. Lots of stuff on the Van forums about destroyed gearboxes.
Pity really as it was a great car and I really like the look of the Vivaro vans. Now have a Nissan Terrano 2.7tdi which is OK but still doesn't pull as well as the Zafira.
