Why bother with steel when you can use wood

Discretely took a picture of this while waiting to board the x-channel ferry this evening....

Yes, it really is made entirely out of wood! ( the steel drawbar is bolted to the front....ermmm.... Bit of decking i think?). Perhaps Jeepster has diversified?

Will be giving him a wide berth when we get to the other side....

I'm sure someone from South America (can't remember which country) posted photos of a "proper" all wooden boat trailer a year or so ago. Or it might have been on the Etec forum??

in thailand they use 40 ft wooden boat trailers, with 3 200 plus on the back, maybee there not towed that far but they do work

Sorry Matt, had my work cut out over the last few days as we took delivery last Saturday of another new vessel..... And believe me, she has her fair share of issues.

Im back in France today so will have more time ( in theory)

The spot market is such at the moment that we're keeping her in Den Helder . She has been pretty busy lately though mainly towing rigs from the UK sector to the Dutch.....
