Winch

Hi, New to the forum so sorry if this is in the wrong slot. We have a second hand 6 metre Avon, transome plate has the boat registered at less that 1400kg fully loaded.
The winch that came with trailer is knackered and under geared and i am after expert advise on what I should replace it with.

I bought one of these, superb quality and FREE quick delivery, just ensure that you get one that fits the holes on your trailer (check their other ones), these have some room to change adjusting positions but I bought one too big at first for the space on my small trailer, they arranged a courier to pick up the first and refunded me, I then bought a slightly smaller one which was perfect. This one has superb gearing you will be impressed

See if you still feel that way after about a year or two. Seems to be the life expectancy of these things.

FWIW, I replaced my Dutton-Lainson winch with a Fulton F2; supposedly a lifetime warranty, so we'll see how that plays out. Can't be much worse longevity-wise than any of the exposed zinc plated ones.
