12ft C Craft Inflatable

Hello all,

I recently purchased a 12ft C Craft inflatable boat to hopefully use for getting to those fishing spots we would love to fish but can't get to by foot.

My boat has had three repairs done to its floor material that looks to be made of grey PVC. Firstly would that be correct and how can I check ?

The previous repairs have been done in the front section near the boats bow so I guess they were caused during beaching/landing. Once I have identified the correct construction material I shall be looking to remove the old patches and prepare the surface for further repair. My intention will be to add a section of repair material covering the whole of the front section so to not only create a waterproof seal in the floor but to add an area of greater resistance to abrasion for the future use of the craft.

Would any-one on this site be kind enough to share any information they have available about this craft and any advice for the successful repairs I would like to carry out.

Unless my memory is playing tricks, I am certain that all Dunlop C Craft were Hypalon rubber.

Hi Chris thanks for your reply. Can you suggest a fail safe way of telling if it is Hypalon rubber?

Do the seams overlap? Or is there a strip over the seam with the butted together? Can you post up a clear picture of the tube seams Also Hypalon is black on the backside. Often times you can pull a valve and look thru with a flashlight and see inside.

Hi, I have fixed my Dunlop inflatable with hypalon glue and material with no issues so am sure its hypalon or something very similar
Good old boats that have lasted the test of time unlike a lot of the modern pvc boats like Zodiac that fall apart
Best of luck and have a good Christmas

Thanks all for the advice. Obviously with Crimbo in two days I will have a good look but I'm sure any repairs will have to wait for now. If I require any other tips from the experts on hear I know where to ask.
Lets hope you all have a great Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
PS - I'll put up a post later with how I get on or not!!
