1st inflate of the T32.
I was very impressed with the Sevylor Pump, all up to pressure in about 10 minutes.

And after 2 hours, hesitation about drilling through the transom, measuring and remeasuring, the Wheels are fitted.
Albeit the wrong way round in the only photo I took

Hi,

Can I ask, what spec wheels are those/where from?

I understood there were some clearance issues with the Honwave rear tabs?

Thanks!

Hi, they are the authentic Honda wheels, I looked at the non genuine equivalent but wasn't convinced by them and had read posts questioning how sturdy they are.

Here's the link from where I bought them;

Looks great! Let us know how you get on with the buzzrack / boat rack. I’m tempted to get a tow ball fitted just for this but I suspect it’ll be something I get with the new car next year.

I used it on a Zodiac 3.2 as a water taxi from my sailing boat whilst living onboard cruising Europe, the Med and Atlantic. We generally anchored off in bays because we were “shoestring” sailors and could not afford flashy marinas. Sadly the zodiac was stolen, but they did not get the Tohatsu as it was padlocked to the rail.

I can confirm that the Tohatsu 9.8 is a brilliant, easy to maintain, highly reliable motor which I could manhandle - with a deck lift - from the rail to the Zodiac with ease! Sadly, age has caught up with both me and my wife, and we are just in the process of selling our sailing boat and cruising life. The Tohatsu is sitting in my garage. If anybody is interested in it, pm me, and we can discuss. You can see it running and it comes with a fuel tank and a box misc spares. It will be collection only from Ripon, North Yorkshire after we have both had our COVID vaccinations next month.

I had to buy a Zodiac 2.9 Cadet v air deck as an emergency replacement dinghy in 2019 new. It too is in my garage. It too is available. Pm me. Peter R
Hi Peter have you got an idea of price for the engine

1st outing completed, I'm glad I practiced with inflation/deflation and read the many posts on how to fold a Honwave, not perfect but much better than my first efforts in the garden. The Sevylor pump works very well and using the Buzzrack makes life a lot easier with regards to boot space.

The Honwave T32/6hp Mariner OB combo goes well, up on the plane without issues, I just lent fwd a little as I throttled up.

Now onto the next conundrum, do I buy a road trailer so I can keep it inflated for the summer, can I squeeze it in between front of house and front wall (180cm), what's the smallest/lightest i can get away with? The actual driveway is out of bounds according to my wife....

i've been looking at this https://indespension.co.uk/coaster-nano with the option of bars or rollers, any suggestions would be great, ideally light enough to use as a trolley once i've got to where i'm going.

Thank you all for your interest. I have sold my Tohatsu 9.8 to a Ribnetter who will be collecting it once the lockdown is over.

Congrats on your maiden voyage Pompey, hope you realise how lucky you are to be able to get out on the water. Most of us have our fingers crossed for the 12th April.

Awesome stuff, good to see someone with a buzz rack too! If you rate it it’s definitely on the shopping list for next year.

(P.S. don’t get stung by plod for blocking the rear number plate, whatever you do!)

Thanks all, yes I'm very fortunate to live by the coast.

The launch site is a spit of land just past Southsea marina, free parking and very calm on the western side, easy to walk the boat close to the channel, then launch.

The buzzrack comes with a license plate holder so no risk of the plod feeling my collar, thanks for the advice though.

Any comments or recommendations on a lightweight road trailer would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, just park up at the end of the spit, at the highwater mark, then launch into the sheltered lake. Regardless of tides i'm only pulling the Honwave a maximum of 5m to get afloat. Its compacted sand/shingle so very easy. Free to park as well.

Additional launch site

I've also found a slipway in the North of the city, which has been built into the new sea defences.
I had Googled the hell out of slipways in the area and never heard it mentioned anywhere.
It's a great spot (if you don't mind rowing out the 1st 20m's odd) to get access to the North of Portsmouth Harbour without having to go via the camber docks and dodge in and out of massive ferries, which I don't feel comfortable doing in a 3.2m Sib.
Again it's free to park, but realistically you probably only have a 3 hr window, 1.5hrs either side of HT.

Around Portsmouth by SIB is a good trip, I’ve done it a couple of times - you just need a nice day and get the tides right!
