30 year old Achilles

There is a 1986 black hypalon Achilles for sale not too far from me. The fabric looks brand new with virtually no wear. Despite that I'm concerned about the age of the adhesive and possible seam issues down the road.

I'm interested in opinions on this, especially from the repair guys on this site. Thanks.

Inspect the transom for rot.
Inspect the valve bases. They sometimes dry rot, which requires cutting the old one from the tube.

It is not usually for Hypalon/csm to develop creamer leaks from the seams with age. These leaks are usually very slow and can be sealed with internal sealant.

Th specs in the Ad for that Achilles appear to be incorrect. It is not the same as the SU model achilles that the owner compares it to. It is more like an SG achilles which is built with lighter material from what I recall.

Looking for a smoking deal. Check this one out. I spoke with guy on the phone and he is for real. It is being sold by a comercial horse farm by one of the employees. He did not even know what year it was. He read the VIN to me and the last two digets was 10 which means 2010. That engine alone is worth 1500 bucks. If only he was not 1300 miles away.
