Another idea I have is to do away with the seat box and fit a ply bench to mount my folding seat to via 3 points.
1on the front tube and obviously 1 on each side tubes, using the hook and pocket fittings.
That would eliminate all weight and pressure from the floor.
Is there a particular point on the tube where these pockets need to be glued and do I just use the same glue that is used in repair kits?
Thanks

Fenlander has just done a seat thread which will help you for you’re needs that would be fine but you would need to have the seat swivel to steer the engine properly

, I'll have a look for it.
The seat is just for fishing at anchor, I'm happy on the side tube whilst motoring

Just a thought whilst you fabing up a swivel would be neat so you could sit on the opposite tube then if you wish two options

Forgot to mention they are hard wearing, none slip and easy to clean plus protect the air floor.
After every trip just take them out a quick wipe down floor and tiles put them back and away you go.

So I've got my seat hooks and retaining patches.
Just waiting for my 2 part glue and MEK.
That gives me time to work out the position of the retaining patches.
I see the hooks are rigid in there angle so my question is do I have to position them high enough on the tubes so the top of the hook plates are all level or will the webbing have enough give to allow all 3 to be screwed to the underside of the ply seat and twist level behind the webbing.
I don't really want to position it too high where I feel I'm too high and exposed

When I fitted my second seat I realised there was an ideal posn for the seat supports on the tube... there was also an ideal posn for me re height and it wasn't the same place. I went for a slight compromise but nearer the height I wanted and made a small alteration to the seat fixings to allow for this.
To check I set the SIB up in the garage and sat on various height items to work out what suited... as well as distance from transom re holding the OB tiller.

I've marked out where I'm going to fit my seat hook patches.
I have no experience with glueing at all.
I have my 3 patches, MEK and 2 part glue.
Am I best inflating the sib and rolling the patches or deflating and put something flat underneath and on top and weighing down
Hopefully you can just see the pencil line where the patches are going in the photos

I always inflate to full pressure for this type of patch... i.e. not a leak.
Remember to fix masking tape around the patch just a couple of mm out from the pencil line to stop glue overspill.

Brill
The patches are roughly 14" X 5".
How much glue should I mix per patch, I have the polymarine . I was just going to do 1 at a time with it being my first time

The mixed glue stays viable for a couple of hours in a jam jar with a lid and out of the sun... so it would make sense to do each in turn.
Each patch is going to take about an egg cup or so of glue mix but it's easier to get the ratio correct with mixing a bigger quantity.
