They are strong enough as long as the weight was spread a bit... any chafing due to movement between box and floor was considered.

Well I've got the floor lined out with a piece of lino. If I put something like a 4" squared corked backed ply under each corner would that be okay?

That was the sort of thing I was thinking of but I would try and match the angle of the V with your "load spreader" pieces.

Remind me what model the SIB is?

It’s a hard foam that can be shaped with a hot knife then glued if wished to a box say to give a level base on a uneven, shaped, floor soft enough not to damage air floors etc. It’s not ignorance it’s lack of info which this site is about we pass on ideas and info you take or leave depending on your needs

Seeing the pads like that would make me wonder if they should be at least twice the size... and padded underneath.

Okay brill.
I did get a sheet of closed cell foam as JS suggested.so I can glue that onto the final pads and box. Will contact glue be ok?
I do have a piece of lino cut to cover the entire floor too

They are currently 6" X 3".
Do you think 6" square would be better

I mean this is all opinion and guesswork but I'd have liked to see the pad spanning a greater width of the floor (as in from centre to tube).

That’s what I meant a pad shaped to the floor and box you could do it with expanding foam inside a plastic bag then shape it when it’s gone off
