Advice on air pumps please,
Will it be possible to run a a bravo or rule pump of a 12 volt portable battery pack,as I sometimes will not be near my van to use the battery.

The Bravo will pull around 15amps, the Rule about 20. I don't know what battery is in the battery pack. I use a standalone battery - a 7A Amp/Hour battery will happily cover an outing or two for my 2.7m SIB. I use a larger 16AH golf caddy type battery for peace of mind as it avoids running the battery flat. Once you know what is in the battery pack you'll have a better idea.

I'm glad you asked as I had misquoted the Amp ratings - they are 20 and 25 respectively. I've had two Bravos and they have both given trouble, cooked pistons and pressure switch issues. The Rule is great for large quantities of low pressure air fast - SIBs will need topping off by handpump.

I run a Bravo from a 12AH battery to fill and bring to pressure a 3.8 SIB with enough left to do a second slightly smaller one. As Willk mentions the Bravos often only last a few years... 6-7yrs in my case and then it lost the ability to go to HP but for me it's been worth the £20/yr.

The battery is just a value one from Ebay.
