Akron Fabrics

Was wondering if any of you guys owns a sib/rib made in Akron fabric, it's used on work boats, rescue boats, large ribs, seems holds better abrassions than Hypalon but does not last longer than the fabric king. A nice price alternative between PVC and Hypalon fabrics. It's made from polyurethane. Any ideas ?

Happy Sibbing

Loco,

Some of the UK manufacturers do use Polyurethane. Not sure if its actually Akron or another brand.

The two which jump to mind are: Valiant and XS-ribs.

SeaSkills operated a Valiant 6.50 in Akron for several years. Never had any problems with it and when it was sold a year ago it still looked pretty well good as new

The Akron 6.50 Valiant rib looks terrific, very professional fabric, would be a nice alternative betwen PVC and Hypalon fabrics then. Will order my next 380 sib in that material for a change as Hypalon is much more expensive.

Thanks,
