And now my outboard has packed up

Went out on the thames yesterday and my 25 hp two stroke of 1990 ish vintage gave up the ghost.
Had a little look and found no spark on ether plug which is makeing me think stator any ideas peoples?

Is there a microswitch on the neutral position of the gear lever?

No micro switch but it started stright up to night.confused

Ha, intermittent faults are the most interesting to chase If it repeats, I can scan and post the ignition troubleshooting guide from my Seloc Mercury/Mariner manual, unless it is against forum policy?

I think it is the stator breaking down ive had this on a motorbike before.it may be a dear fix :-(
