I just checked the quote I had for a new one, and a GRX420 as a comparison was £6347 ex Vat. The 12k I quoted earlier in the thread was actually excluding a trailer, so it would be nearly £15k for a new setup inc VAT. I was quoted £3300 ex vat for a new Tohatsu 50hp 2s (but you need to be commercial or racing to get a new one).

Hi Seumas I've been emailing Jacques and he has forwarded a few pictures of the surfcat and the colours they look impressive and completely customised to your choice ,Has anyone you know ordered off him and how reliable is it ,Sorry for being sceptical but I've been fleeced a few times so mega cagey now.
It's 50 percent payment then a jobcard issued to you for colour choice then I presume the other 50 on completion. I'm well keen just looking for reassurance.

If / When you plan to order, let us know the spec you're thinking of. Im sure there will be lots of input to help you make a decision.

One of the big things I've liked on my GRX vs my Thundercat is the closed transom. Makes it a lot more usable without getting wet all the time. Might be worth considering a closed transom, depending on your typical use.

Cheers fella ,I'm not 100 percent sure what choices you can have yet as I haven't seen the order form ,I think a closed transom would be better for me with self bailers like a gemini .

From memory around 2-3 months from order to arrival, possibly a bit longer currently. I paid 100% on order, saves a wee bit on fees and currency conversion.
I've bought 2 thundercats from Jacques, both times they came over with a surfcat.

Customization is obviously a bit limited, you can add the rubbing strake on the side of the tubes, or a double strake. Various colours, transom options, on the thundercat you can get a carbon nose cone. I had a surfcat before a thundercat, when I was 14/15, fantastic boats. Had a closed transom on that too, wooden inserts with trunks

Still got it, embarrassingly I’ve not had it out for 12 months so I was thinking about selling it.

Do you mean the complete outfit? Or just the actual hull?

As I won’t split the outfit, it will go as an outfit or it will stay.
