And don’t keep it in customs a day longer than necessary, as you get charged £100 a day, don’t ask how we know that [emoji15][emoji15]

They are rated for 70hp, go for 40hp minimum, any less and you’re wasting your time and you would be as well with a Honwave, Aerotec etc etc plus it would save the hassle of importing.

Grx 420

I have one of these here in Australia with a 25 Yamaha fourstroke. Fantastic.

Only issue is Ive had both the handle ropes pull out of the back pontoons near the transom. Likely as a result of the very hot weather we've been having ( +46 deg C) . Expect to get a bit wet in these.

Ive got the GRX 420 here in Australia. Great boat with a 25 yamaha fourstroke.
The tube ropes pulled out at the back near the transom. likely as a result of super hot weather ( +45 deg C). Now have to figure out how to get them back in.

Hi Rob, do you still have this. What kind of speeds did you end up with one forsale locally to me and a surfcat. Deciding on which one to go for.

Hi, yes I still own it.

I was out on it last weekend. It’s a great boat, very well built and fast. It’s the acceleration that’s the main standout and the way it pops out of the holel. Planes at low speed as well. I think it’s around 8 knots.

I’m getting about 30 knots out of it, however i still think the engine could go a little higher, but I’m not chasing speed so not too bothered. It’s plenty last enough and feels as fast as my old Thundercat (however I never actually measured that)

My GRX is heavier though as it’s made from Hypalon and I also end up carrying loads of stuff in the bow bag, which probably means it’s not trimmed well for speed!

Great boats, I actually wish I owned it over my Thundercat all the years ago as it’s so much more versatile (any surfcat would be the same as this)

I am however thinking of swapping to a RIB as I now have a young family and it’s not that suitable. Having said that, I went out with my 2.5 year old daughter and wife at the weekend and they all loved it.

Thank you for taking the time to answer. What's the value of these second hand looking at them they're unique in the UK.. so guessing what someone is prepared to pay.

Yes I guess so. They rarely come up for sale, so hard to judge the value.

I would want £4k for mine to sell it as a package with trailer etc (mine had a brand new trailer in I think 2020, which was about 2k on its own.) I did get a price for a new one with M50D2 motor and it was about 15k all in for a full setup, but that was a few years back, so probably more now with inflation.

Hi all,

I've decided to put my boat up for sale as i really need something a bit bigger for the family (may consider a PX / Swap for a RIB)

If anyone is interested, get in touch. I will also pop an advert in the for sale section. Cheers

Hi,
I've bought a grx420 in Holland just days before your add, pitty as I now have to order and organise delivery of all the bits an pieces...
As I also need to buy a trailer, can you help me with the dimensions, what is the distance (external width) of the rails, as well as their length and height above the trailer's base frame?
Internal width is 99 cm but I am not sure how much it is between the highjackers...
Thanks in advance

Ah that’s a shame. You could have had a boat and trailer included for only a bit more than a new trailer!! Out of interest, did you buy new? And if not, where was it advertised?

This is the trailer I have on mine:

https://www.extreme-trailers.co.uk/i...e-1/ext750-cat

I will have to get the tape measure out to measure the other dimensions and get back to you

Thanks!
Shame indeed...
I still did not get it, having difficulties with the transportation. And the engine, that's another saga, so difficult to get the m50d2, hopefully arriving next week.
I bought second hand ex rescue boat 2018, from www.novi-marine.com (in Netherlands). It was not advertised, I inquired about some rib and through the conversation a sales guy (Arjen) mentioned he has ready to go second hand grx, so I couldn’t resist . New with all rescue options and thicker Hypalon, as this one, apparently costs close to € 12'000, so I thought that I've got a good deal...

Nice looking boat, looks similar to mine, however yours has the open transom.

Yes, the engines are hard to find, I've had someone looking to buy mine, however I'm not keen to split everything at the moment.
