Avon Rover R3 floor

Just recently purchased my Avon and spending the cold months doing bits of work to tidy it up.
The floor is in 3 sections and the panel nearest the transom has an aluminium strip on the edge which engages with the middle panel. Can anyone tell me if this strp can be removed or is it glued tight to the plywood?
Just looking to varnish the floor to try and keep it in reasonable condition.

Well even if glued from new perhaps the glue has let go and it's only friction holding it now. I'd be tempted to knock the broadest blade screwdriver that would fit between timber and alloy, pressing on the thin face of the wood, and see if it easily comes away.

I was thinking of tapping the aluminium with a rubber mallet and if it moves then tap it off, if it's firm I may seal the edges with epoxy then clean the ply up and varnish it.

Yes anything the gently tests its level of adhesion should give you an idea, and yes if stuck fast I'd treat it the same way.
