Beach launching

Hello can anyone shed some light on the rules and regulations of launching my sib from wales and devon beaches,or is there not any,many thanks

Just chuck it in the water and get on with it!!!

Off the beach itself no probs. Maybe a slip owned by a council will have some regs. In Swansea you must have insurance if the engine is over 15hp. They charge you if you have a trailer but as i didn't they said don't worry it's not a real boat!!!

At another beach where they charge for boat launching they again said - no probs as no trailer.

If you are launching off a beach with swimmers around you must head straight out and straight back in again - no zig zagging about through the swimmers but common sense is all it takes.

When launching in Wales keep an eye on the boat or else it will be nicked. When launching in South Devon turn right and vice versa on the North coast.

One of the great things about having a SIB is that you CAN launch from a beach.
