Without doubt! I suggested to Jon that a builders bucket with anchor, chain etc and 5 litres of extra fuel would help, especially when he's only one up.

Good call a big chance of flipping as it is, wouldn’t want him getting wet at this stage.

Get the fuel tank as far forward as possible and take a huge pack of sarnies and keep those up the front 👍

Thanks for the advice everyone.

Once I could increase the revs to 4k, it felt like the boat flattened out a lot more than video shows. Hoping to get out again this weekend with the wife and 2 kids. Not sure if to slowly add people and gauge the change in handling etc, or get all 3 in weighing maybe 18 stone total and take it from there. Will try raising the engine 20mm or so.

I'd do a quick trial on my own with a 20mm packer, once around the island you'll know if it's right or not. If not, do the same with a 10mm packer. Once you are happy on your own, try it with the rest of the family. It's trail and error and a compromise as to what height the OB should be, but you will hear and feel when it's right.
However, it's the first weekend out with the kids, so it really doesn't matter. The most important thing is that you and the family have a good time and enjoy it. But, do watch your speed! especially on the North side (road side) of the lake. If you do fancy a bit of speed only do it around Howtown and watch out for the ranger.

Thanks Steve.

I suppose I’ll have to learn a little more about the boat/engine set up side of things. I’ve spent the last few months getting equipment together, this is just the next step.
