Bigger Boat!!
Hi all,
After owning a 3.3m SIB for 6 months i have found myself hooked on boating.
I am now looking for something bigger for 2 adults and 2 children to use with a bit more space for picnics etc.
Does anyone have any ideas? doesnt have to be a sib, would be happy to go for a rigid hull and a trailer that i can tow with a skoda octavia so not too big...
Any advice would be appreciated
thanks in advance
Paul

Give us an idea of budget, new or used, who's likely to help launch, what you want to do with it, etc.

Depending on your needs I would say that a 5 meter plus rib would be ideal for you and your family and reasonably cheap to run

Been looking at boats around the 4m mark. Fancy something with a console as i find sitting on the tube and steering uncomfortable after 20 mins or so. Would possible like some seating for the kids as they are only young and im not too keen on them sitting on the tubes, especially when it gets a bit choppy as it often does on the local river. Dont want to go miles out to sea but would like to do some coast hoping on nice sunny, calm days.

Paul, try Jeff Hutcheon on here, he's got a nice Tornado for sale that would be good for a starter family rib

£1500 on a trailer.
Easily towed with your car.
Add £1500 engine, leaves £2000 of budget to fit out with double console and two double jockey seats (seating for 4).
Could be done.

I will be only too pleased to do it or you but it'll blow your £5k budget or you'll have a very small engine budget left at the end.
I'll PM you.
Sorry no experience of the avon 450. Doubt very much you'll seat 4 in it tho.
