Bombard Aerotec 380. 15hp or 25hp?

I have the above with a 15hp yamaha 2 stroke, is there much differance with going to a 25hp yamaha 2 stroke? Could someone that has tried both please let me know.

Thanks.

As you only have 9 posts, i'll be gentle.

Yes, it'll make a lot of difference.

I have a 380 aerotech with a yamaha 25 hp 2 stroke and I have to say it goes really well. So well in fact that the first time I took it out it really scared me! However after tweaking motor height, loading in the boat and an extension tiller it has become a lot of fun. In fact my five year old son was driving it today at about 26 knots!( I had the kill cord on and a firm hold on him!). I haven't tried it with a 15 hp but I really can't think why you would want to.

I've tried both. The 15hp is OK, and plenty of people seem to be happy with this combination. You would only want to run the boat lightly loaded though - with three adults and 2 small children by 380 wouldn't plane with a 15hp motor.

The 25hp motor really makes the boat come alive, and it will cope well when fully loaded. The only downside is that it's heavier to lug around on shore.
