Brake would imply trailer, I assume it is the engine though and he has broken down.

Did you get the flash code from the light?

What is the oil level like and colour of it?

Any signs of gearbox strike?

Noise from gearbox or motor?

Pull the plugs and see if any signs of damage to them if motor.

DO NOT RUN IT AGAIN, especially if it is under warranty!!!

Suzuki have a service reminder with flashing oil light, that could be what the light means but you need to know what the flash code is.

The important thing is the knocking noise, was it doing it in/out of gear?

Was it from the engine or gearbox?

Very much doubt it is the impeller given you had water.

At what stage in the trip did this happen... i.e distance, was it first run since service and what sort of speeds had you been doing. Did you get towed or limp back?

Knocking random or in line with revs?

Some info here on the light, looks like it might not be capable of giving you different flash codes on that size of motor, it maybe just the oil reminder needs reset.

https://www.suzuki.ca/sites/default/...nformation.pdf

If it is under warranty just call your dealer and let them figure out the noise if nothing obvious to be seen, they should have reset the oil light anyway.

Can't diagnose this over forum with current info but if it is knocking and nothing obvious then just let the dealer sort it, get the tv on and your feet up

Don't they have three warning lights** on the right as you look at the front? If so which one/ones were coming on?

Agree near impossible to diagnose over forum but might be possible to get an idea of the general area of the fault.

**One for low oil, another overheat and finally one for check engine (I.e. ECU logged faults)???

Hi guys
Just to assist folks understand HH’s dilemma .. he is on a trip down south and his new Suzuki OB broke down just as he approached Portland Bill Tide Race.

Fortunately he got a tow to safety. He phone asking if I knew what was wrong but I said his best bet would be to ask you good folks on here

That hopefully explains his short posts.. I presume he was texting from sea in a broken down boat being towed when he was posting. He is now on land and can hopefully get someone to assist...if not..Im sure he will be able to give clearer info now his situation is under control

Thanks for trying to assist from the info he managed to get through
