Bristol chanel sib fishing

Hello all.
I've spent a lot of time fishing on charter boats out of Portishead and Minehead over the past years, do any of you guys venture out in your sibs in the Bristol chanel for the cod/bass. I'm well aware of the currents as being very dangerous but surely a well powered sib should be able to get around safely in calm conditions.

Hmmmm i wouldn't.. its not so much the speed of current its the fact that it can suddenly get very lumpy coupled with the water movement and its game over.. ive had many opps to get the SIb out from here and chosen not to!

If it's neap tides and a calm day, then maybe... Otherwise not advisable...

Nice to see Matt and Chris in agreement....

Must say I agree with them both...as I've said before any fishing in the Bristol Channel is from anchor (usually up tiding) which whith the strong Tidal streams coupled with ANY sort of Wind/Chop...really doesn't suit SIB's.
